Adler-Con Gaming Event

Saturday Jan 28th 2017 9am till 8pm Table top gaming event and hobby show

Monmouth Courthouse, June 28, 1778 - 2pm to 6pm

Game Master - Allan (AJ) Wright

Game Title
Highlight

Monmouth Courthouse, June 28, 1778

Game Description

This game will be a hypothetical re-fight of this pivotal AWI battle. Historically General Lee rushed to advance on the British rear guard with a hastily-assembled assault force of only individual volunteer soldiers from Washington's larger force. This re-fight includes all soldiers from each regiment in the volunteer force, which makes Lee's initial assault on the British rear-guard a much more sporting affair. Can either side press home an advantage before both armies turn the battle into a general engagement? Play as a rebel (American) brigadier and prevail to save Charles Lee's reputation or fight for the Crown and prove Lee's court martial was well deserved. This game will use The Electronic Brigadier rules, a new innovative computer-moderated rules system which uses tablets instead of a single laptop for data entry. Players will be provided with tablets by the game master. Tabletop procedures are fast, simple and easy to learn. For more information please see http://tinyurl.com/ElectronicBrigadier

GM Ralph Gero

Game Title

A Man Walks into a Tavern

Game Description

It is early evening and the tavern is peaceful. But, that is about to change. Musketeers Aramis and Athos sit at a table in quiet conversation. Their friend Porthos stands at the bar. At other tables sit members of the Cardinal's Guard; M. De Jussac, M. Bernajoux, M. Cahusac and M. Biscarrat. D'Artagnan opens the tavern door and steps inside. The guardsmen have been instructed to apprehend D'Artagnan. The musketeers know D'Artagnan to be a friend to M. Treville, captain of the Musketeers and someone whose honor they must defend. Through swordplay, throwing mugs and crockery, swinging from the chandelier and pulling rugs out from under opponents, who will prevail? Run them through or slash them to ribbons then live to tell the tale. The mayhem takes place in a four foot square, three dimensional tavern. Playing pieces are three inch tall accurate representations of the Three Musketeers and the Cardinal's Guards.

Game Masters : Chris Penney, Billy DiGiulio and Dean Emmerson

Game Title

Battle of Atlanta part 2

Game Description

Outside of Atlanta, Georgia-- Summer of 1864. The Army of Tennessee has a new commander, John Bell Hood, and he has had enough of defensive battles and strategic retreats. He believes that only by going over to the offensive will the Confederacy stop the Union and save Atlanta. His plan is to divide his army and send half of it on a flank march to catch the Yankees strung out and unprepared. Just like Robert E Lee's masterpiece from the year before at Chancellorsville. It is now the morning of July 22nd and the armies are in place. We know how history played this out -- come take a command and see if you can you do better!

Deerfield Raid 1704 - 2pm to 6pm

GM ; Dave Valentine

Game Title

Deerfield Raid 1704

Game Description

Deerfield Raid 1704 – What if they couldn’t get the gate open?? “The people of Deerfield had long been living in fearful anticipation of an attack by French and Indians in Canada. Their stockade was built hurriedly in 1690 when they believed they were the next target of the French and Mohawks who attacked Schenectady that winter. Those residents whose homes lay outside the palisade, were encouraged by the town to build refuges within the protected area and to come there at night, for protection against an attack. The fact that the houses at the north end of the street were empty on the night of February 29, 1704, because the residents of those buildings were "safely" ensconced in shelters within the palisade, gave the French and Indian raiders an advantage. They were able to creep noiselessly down the street and send an advance force to silently climb the snowbank that surrounded the palisade. This group then opened the north gate to admit the others, and the assault began……..” Partial Narrative by Susan McGowan Titus based on research about John Hawks The game will be centered around a small party French and Mohawk trying to breach the palisade. The English will be tucked in their houses with only a couple of sentry wandering the streets. Can the French get the north gate open before they are discovered? Can they get away with captives?
