Green Spring (Revolutionary War)

Game Description;

The Battle of Green Spring July 6, 1781 at Green Spring, Virginia Pin it! Share on Facebook AMERICAN FORCES Commanded by: Gen. "Mad" Anthony Wayne Strength: 800 Casualties: 28 killed, 172 wounded BRITISH FORCES Commanded by: Gen. Charles Cornwallis Strength: 5,000 Casualties: 75 killed and wounded CONCLUSION Conclusion: British Victory Yorktown campaign The Battle of Green Spring took place at Green Spring Plantation in James City County. Green Spring was a colonial era plantation developed by Royal Governor Sir William Berkeley in Virginia near the northwest tip of Jamestown Island, southwest of Williamsburg. On July 6, Gen. "Mad" Anthony Wayne was repulsed at Green Springs Farm by the British army in the last major battle of the Virginia campaign prior to the siege of Yorktown. Wayne, with a force of 800 men, was unknowingly facing the entire British Army of 5,000 men under Gen. Charles Cornwallis at Green Spring. Wayne tried to confuse the British by sending marksmen forward and by sending runners back 5 miles to the Continental Army to let them know what he was facing. Cornwallis, not fooled by Wayne's ruse, began to advance. Wayne recognized that he would be overwhelmed before the American army could arrived. He then organized a bayonet charge. The British, believing that no one would order such an attack without superior forces, withdrew to Portsmouth, and then later to Battle of Yorktown

Game Master - Earl Richards

Game Title

Bloody Tomahawks

Game Description

Setting: Late August, 1758, Ohio Valley Region The British garrison at Fort Ann is low on supplies due to French and Indian activity in the area hampering their arrival. The latest news has not improved their situation: supplies bound from Albany on the sloop "Michigan" are overdue and feared lost. British leaders have had enough and are dispatching all available forces, sending couriers to other locations seeking aid in ridding the woods of the French vermin and locating the supplies. Initial unit placement will be done on maps with movement and contact coordinated by me. Nobody will know who is on what side as units will be distributed randomly at the start of the game. Troop placement has been pre-determined randomly using die rolls and map coordinates for placement. Each unit will have a mission to perform with points awarded if successfully completed. SO? Is that a friend or foe nearby? AHHH...The Panicky Feeling of Woodland Warfare!!

Game Title

Battle of Atlanta Part 1

: Game Description

Outside of Atlanta, Georgia-- Summer of 1864. The Army of Tennessee has a new commander, John Bell Hood, and he has had enough of defensive battles and strategic retreats. He believes that only by going over to the offensive will the Confederacy stop the Union and save Atlanta. His plan is to divide his army and send half of it on a flank march to catch the Yankees strung out and unprepared. Just like Robert E Lee's masterpiece from the year before at Chancellorsville. It is now the morning of July 22nd and the armies are in place. We know how history played this out -- come take a command and see if you can you do better!
